This American Empire Curio Bookcase was crafted during the Late 19th Century. This piece would look stunning filled with antiquarian books or a collection alike. This piece is made of solid oak and finished in a drastic quartersawn veneer. This bookcase displays four different beveled glass panels, as well as a slightly curved glass large front door.
The door front is missing its original escutcheon, a piece of aged rope has since replaced it - It actually suits it well. Inside the bookcase you'll enjoy four removable glass shelves with a tremendous amount of storage space. There are mild chips and cracks shown to some of the shelves, although it's not very noticeable once filled. Each shelf is paired with a back mirror, this reflects light great and adds an array of depth to the piece. This piece was refinished at some point in its life, although it was not done recently. You will find surface scratches, areas of chipped veneer and minor cracks shown. We've circled any notable wear to the piece in our photo gallery for reference. Dimensions: 48 wide x 59 tall x 16.5 deep.
